Dr. Rashmi Manjunath, senior dermatologist at Nu Cosmetic Clinic, suggests a few incredible skin care tips for brides-to-be in the above mentioned video.
This is what she has to say…
“With the wedding season coming close, I have been receiving many queries from brides-to-be about taking care of their skin and hair. I would like to offer a few skincare tips for them through this video.
First of all, let me congratulate all you brides-to-be for the big day. Try and give a lot of time for the day. Skin and hair take some amount of time to start showing changes.”
As per Dr. Rashmi, it would be better to consult a dermatologist at the earliest. Once you do this, a thorough skin analysis will be done and best skin-care products or treatments would be recommended to you.
These are the skin-care tips that Dr. Rashmi has talked about in her video. They can help you achieve glowing skin by your wedding-day:
1. Changing your Diet
Changing your diet is very much necessary if you want to achieve soft and smooth skin that glows. Focus on adequate proteins, healthy fat and lots of fruits and vegetables. Including beta-carotenes in your diet is very important. Beta-carotene, when consumed, converts itself into retinol, an active form of Vitamin A, which benefits the skin immensely. Tomatoes, Papayas, Watermelon, all contain beta-carotene in them. In fact, tomatoes contain an ingredient called lycopene which acts as a natural sunscreen.
2. Keeping your skin Hydrated
Drink about eight to ten glasses of water to keep your skin hydrated naturally. Apart from this, you can also apply olive oil on your skin before taking a shower. This will prevent dryness that occurs from hot water or soap. Use natural soaps that are gentle on your skin. Although taking a hot water bath or shower might make you feel relaxed, it doesn’t do good to your skin when it comes to hydration.
3. Using a Sunscreen on a daily basis
Sun damage is the worst thing that can happen to your skin. Not only does this cause dryness and makes your skin look dull and lifeless, it also makes your skin age faster. Therefore it is very important to use a sunscreen on a regular basis. Make it a point to apply sunscreen every morning and afternoon, without fail.
4. Applying a Nourishing Night Cream before going to bed
Applying a nourishing night cream that has Vitamin C can do wonders to your skin. Vitamin C is a powerhouse of anti-oxidants. When used daily in your skincare routine, Vitamin C can improve the texture of your skin, revitalize the surface of your skin, improve hydration significantly and make you look younger for a longer period of time.
5. Getting Certain Skin Treatments Done
Skin treatments such as medi-facials can give excellent results to your skin. These are carried out clinically by professionals, under the supervision of qualified dermatologists. The ingredients used in such facials would be chosen according to your skin-type and skin-condition. They are aimed at making your skin glow and remain that way for a longer time span.
“Have a great time at your wedding,” says Dr. Rashmi. “I hope to see you soon at Nu Cosmetic Clinic.”
